These seed grown originals really take off and when given the proper moisture, feeding and light, they erupt into fast growing plants. I hope to cross this excellent hybrid with N. truncata or N. maxima to increase the genetic beauty this already has to give. Crossing may exotic highlanders to species such as N. sp. Viking will also open doors for making highland colors and forms in a warm climate. As you say, it should be a fantastic parent. It doesn't grow as fast in my conditions, but it's certainly a favorite: This image is reduced by 6%, click it to view full size. No pitchers for all of 2007, but it has put out a couple basal shoots and I've rooted a couple cuttings, one of which is blooming (male). I'm trying to cross it with my ventricosa-red x spectabilis, but the guy is a little slow on the draw. What do you think of this cross? spectabilis x veitchii (2006) This image is reduced by 13%, click it to view full size. ventricosa-red x spectabilis (lower pitchers are more colorful) This image is reduced by 30%, click it to view full size. I have a small sideshoot I'm trying to root that I got from another grower. That is one of my favorite EP crosses that I hope to get someday. Really nice stuff.
