hey plantlover.
As what Cindy and Arvin had said, you may cut the flower stalk as near as the base/center, then repot somewhere, it will propagate for you. Believe me, it worked for me before! Hmmm... where is the thread I posted before.... Right, Cindy? Meanwhile, your VFT wont dead. Maybe it will just enter its dormancy. Watch out for it. k? |

Aaron, whether you decide to cut off the flower stalks or not you should make sure that the soil isn't too wet. If the plant was weakened by making the flower stalks, the rhizome will be more likely to rot.
Do you know if the nursery owner had any flytraps? |

When we say stick the flower stalk in potting mix, we do mean lay them down horizontally not vertically, I cover with a bit of dried sphagnum moss at one end and leave alone, just making sure they are moist. I guess putting cling wrap over the pot would help too.

Don't have to worry Aaron, just do what our fello friends had said. You'll have some little plantlets in a few weeks time. Yes, keep the humidity higher will do the trick.
If your VFT is weak, I think you better cut the flower stalk away before it drain the energy off the plant, unless you have a strong healthy plant, then you may let it flower to get some seeds. But from seeds, the plant may take years to maturity. |
