Default Drosera menziesii in the tropics

Got some Drosera menziesii from Donny some time ago and they have now sprouted, 5 points so far.

Will try chronicle the growth in pictures as much as possible. These first pictures are taken today but they sprouted about 3 weeks ago.

Sorry pictures are blurr. Ignore the D binata and D burmanii.

By september they should be flowering and heading for dormancy shortly after that. They should have daughter tubers coming next season. The Pink Rainbow spend most of the year in dormancy or waiting to break dormancy.

Nice growing Ben. I have some of these in waiting to germinate. I hope you get them through to next season. How are youplanning on managng the dormancy? I would be interested to hear.

Marvin,

The green stuff inthe second pic looks like algae or moss coming up. I often get this on some of my pots but it doesn't seem to harm the seedlings at all.

Dormancy should not be problem. Just let the pots dry out. I just happy to see them growing in a tropical conditions.

Casey: talk you in janurary, I will have more menzesii tubers then.

If there are daughters I can pass some to you casey. No worries.

Sign of dormancy? When the above ground plant material dries up? Just keep it dry right?

Adam, hope your seeds will germinate for you.
