Re: Nepenthes Rajah
Mine was outdoor. My dad forced me to transplant it 3 time and shifted the plant here and there a lot of times.

Re: Nepenthes Rajah
A baby rajah(BE's S size) can survive in very lowland conditions(30+C) for a year or two before finally dying off. However, the plant will be fine if things cool down a bit at night. I think rajah can actually grow for you in lowland if your growing area has a regular drop down to at least 24-26C at night. The problem is that its a light loving species and it won't pitcher if the area isn't bright enough. Another problem is that its a fussy plant and utterly hates being transplanted. I had one growing at my window till it had leaves the size of my palm but had itchy fingers and transplanted it...and it was gone.
My current rajah is still small, but is healthy and pitchering. It grows at my window with normal day temps and air-con(~22-24C) at night. You don't need a terrarium for it...if you're going to take all the trouble setting up a terrarium, you might as well grow a hamata :P |
