The typical VFT grows trap that lie down on the ground. There are cultivars or types that produce erect stalks and hold the traps upwards. Mine is the typical one. Btw alpiner, just to correct you that there is only one species of VFT which is Dionaea Muscipula. The reason why they are different is due to mutations during tissue culture and variation in seedlings.
