Baby flava's

Here are a few pic's of my baby flava's from this year. The flava's were the first of my sarra's to germinate this year and they have now produced their first pitcher. They should have strong red coloration when they mature in a few years.

Nice seedlings Strath! I take it that you germinated them strait after collection? No stratification?

How old are they now? 1 year?

Thanks Arvin, The seeds were actually two year old and I put the seeds in a zip lock bag with some moist spahgnum in my fridge for a couple of months. I then put the mix onto a 50:50 mix of peat and sand. I think they germinated in around 3 weeks.

The plants are now about 4-6 weeks old.

Oic, interesting, does stratification needs to be that long? Can it be two weeks to one month?

By the way, interesting seedlings, I wish you luck in growing them. Hopefully they will be matured. ASAP

It doesn't need to be that long. You can get away with a month or less but the closer to 8-12 weeks that you give it the faster and more even germination will be. I got my seeds in winter so they weren't going to grow anyway so I left them in the fridge for a long time.
