My VFT has been growing poorly lately. Firstly the traps are more semi-open and quickly turns black. I fed a life mosquito larvae after a new trap open for a few days and after a week or so the center of the traps start showing a single black dot in the middle and few days later all turn black. Is the food i fed it too 'nutritious' for it or it showing sign of dormancy? I do notice in slow growth though. Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

My advice is better no feed them because we may over feed - plant will dead.

The plant didnt show any sign of dormancy yet... At least from the photo.
![]() For now, just stop feeding it and see what will happen. If want to feed yours VFT, just feed 1 trap each time is enough. Dont feed too frequence. once weekly or once every 2 week is more then enough. Cheersss...

The way I know that your plant looks healthish is that it has one new almost open trap and there are a few new leaves growing, check those often and if they are growing, then your plant is fine.
I don't think one Mossie larvae will give it indigestion ![]() TTFN Arvin
