ampullaria & rafflesiana Damai
« Thread Started on Mar 31, 2008, 5:27am »

Hello

Here are some photos i took during May 2007 in Damai, Sarawak.
The place is the Santubong forest. I found only ampullaria in the more opened areas but always with some rafflesiana and i found no hybrids between both.
Many raff were growing along a small dried brook.

Both amp & raff are growing very high on the trees.
Who can fly to get some seeds?

Enjoy!

Thank you for the pictures. Love them all. I'm surprise that the raffleisanas here grow in a much shaded area. The amps are huge. I still have not seen amps that size or those that Robert post from Sarawak here in Peninsular Malaysia. Perhaps I've got to seach harder. Maybe there will be more in Johor and Melaka states.

Did you happen to peep into the rafflesiana pitchers? Does the rafflesiana picthers have insects in them?
