Wow! You have a mirabilis var. echinostoma! I've been looking for this mirabilis for some time now. Cool man! Love the red colour on yours too. Usually I see only picture of green forms on the net. Please share with me where you got this?

Your dark eymae x veitchii is just jaw dropping. WOW! Such huge peristome. Love the dark red on the flaring peristome.

« Reply #9 on Oct 26, 2007, 11:26pm » David, thanks for your compliment and that thorelii x trucata .. that is a stable special clone from EP. That deformed pitcher is the characteristic of that plant ~

For the mirabilis, I bought it from BE early last year. There should be a few clones from that batch of plant. I am lucky to get a dark clone like this. It is receiving a 50% shade just like other pitcher plants I grow here ~

Try to polinate it with another nep and see if the seeds carry the same trait. It would be very interesting to find out and have a unique nep like that. I wonder if this is because of tissue culture. Either way, that is a unique plant and it has it's own beauty to me. I am such a sucker for unique things.

Fauzi, could you help get this mirabilis var. echinostoma in from BE?

Hello Choong, that isn't always true ~ Price of land varies from region to region and you are right, I live in the new territories, a place of lower land cost.

I do have several greenhouses, 2 are full and my plants are invading the third one ~ Most of the people seeing my greenhouses ask immediately whether I am running a business and they simply cannot believe I operate all the stuff just by myself ~ As my grow size get bigger and bigger, I am always tired the whole day as my plants spent all of my leisure time ...
