Utricularia in habitat - Brazil
Hello everyone!
There are 3 months ago the Dornelas Rafael and I did a short walk to Pico do Ana Moura, place which is 30 minutes away from home. We walk and maybe find one or another pc, but this place in a reserved welcome surprise! The photos are of Rafael Dornelas. Once the guy, find a wall full of PCs! They identify? More closely ... It was easy right? Now it is impossible not to know! Thousands of U.longifolia flowers! There was also a small U.pussila, but in smaller quantities. And that U.longifolia different ... Some Bromeliads Spiders View from the top of the peak the wall that cries This is Rafael Dornelas! This is Me! And that the owner of the Show! I hope you enjoyed! Best Regards!

Thanks for sharing Paulo. Beautiful pictures. Love the landscape at your home. Even though I am not there physically, it gives me a feeling of freedom and a vast expanse of space.

Re: Utricularia in habitat - Brazil
Hi PHD Pereira, wow... that's spectacular view. I like your place too.
Are the U. longifolia grow on the wall with constant water flow? What's the temperature like, the soil they grow in, how much sun do they take and what about the humidity? Sorry for asking so many thing at once, I have never come across thread on habitat of U. longifolia, so happy once I saw it. It seems U. longifolia is difficult in cultivation, I mean to flower. Wanna get more informations on this. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Utricularia in habitat - Brazil
Hello!
Glad you liked it! The place is really wonderful! And there are many beautiful places in Brazil. If you ever have the opportunity to come to Brazil, let me know! maybe we can not go into the field? Quote:
Most U.longifolia grow within the wall. Some in the peat around. The temperature in the habitat (try to play) are: In winter: Low: 10 º C High: 25 º C In summer: Minimum: 20 º C High:> 35 º C Average Humidity: 80% Sun only in the early morning, when it is weak ... I hope I have helped

Re: Utricularia in habitat - Brazil
Hi Paulo, thanks for the info.
From your info, seems the climate in lowland Malaysia is not suitable for this plant. Cooler temperature might be the key to flower. |
