Default Shawn in Home and Garden magazine, Thailand

Hey guys/gals,

Check out Shawn's garden. He was featured in the Home and Garden magazine in Thailand recently. Simply georgeous! Just like a tropical resort paradise. The Thai Nepenthes forum members post some pictures from the magazine. Check out the thread here.

Here are some of the pictures from the magazine that was posted on the Thai Nepenthes forum by POP, The Secretary if you're lazy to click on the link above...

Wow! Dream house man... Yup agree with Terrence, takes years of planning. Shawn, just one question, you have nocturnal visitors in your house at night since it is not fenced/glassed/walled up? Bats, monkeys, mossies etc?

Thanks guys! Well, I prefer to call it; "Living with Nature"! Really, it's not bad, a few frogs, some toads, occasionally a snake, bats just passing through...no monkeys as yet (thank God!).

And it's more like years of planting rather than planning. Remember the story about the shoemaker's son who went to school barefoot? I never have time to "plan" things around my own home, it all just gets planted wherever there's an open space! My clients' projects seem to get all the "planning" time!

I'm afraid I can't blame it on anybody but myself! Actually I like it, but after 7 years here I realize I should have built in a lot more storage space! The article explains that I built this place (with 5 of my workers) in 3 months; from clearing the brush to moving in! I was in a hurry to move onto the land to start the project. Of course, after-the-fact it's always easy to see what you 'should' have done! Considering building a second part up the hill a bit as a seperate office/bedroom (Which will make it even harder to get away from work!) but right now that's my private orchid/hoya nursery and I don't know where I could move all the plants while building, so will put it off for a while.
