Thanks. Never thought of that one, cpnut. Alas, the speckled red fella is left with a few shoots here and there on the ground when my parents chopped the mango tree and build a roofing over the garden. The green one is still going and going and going like Energizer bunny hehehe

I have all my Neps grown in burnt soil too. Clay soil also works wonders particularly for raffs that refuse to pitcher. All other media mixes have not worked well for them although now only my bical is still refusing to pitcher. I wonder why

Hi

So far i've used LFS and perlite for my raffs and recently trying on peat moss....and all seem fine.....For my bical its in 100% LFS and at last after 4 months its on its way to make its first pitcher......I don't expect any size on it but well as long as the fangs are there

Ken

As far as I know, bicalcarata and ampullaria grows in peat bogs that are high in acidity. Therefore, I think that they are more suitable to be grown in sphagnum or peat moss.

Cheers
