I'm trading for a Brunei Red in the next month or so. Since we obviously have the same clone, let's have a little echinostoma competition ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Species seed is worth its weight in platinum Valhalla when I die David Administrator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 2,326 Location: Kuala Lumpur ![]() « Reply #3 on Feb 3, 2008, 4:59pm » ok, ok, ![]() ![]() Lucky you, getting a brunei red next month. I was so tempted to get that too but no budget at the moment. Or else have to live on fresh air and sunshine. Or worst, have to live outside the house... I have no "Minister of Home Affairs" so I can do what I want (for now lol). Hmmmm....I guess the comp will go for a few months or a year or so? Your climate should be perfection for growing neps outside. Your climate should be perfection for growing neps outside. M Michael, I live in an apartment in Kuala Lumpur. As it is, Kuala Lumpur air is quite dry because it's a city. What more I live in an apartment on the 13th floor. Only one side of my living hall window gets the evening sun for a couple of hours a day. But I have problem growing neps here as the sun shift. For 6 months there will be sun and another 6 months no sun. My neps were happy for a couple of years by the window until recently. In the past 1 year or so it just has been bad. It keeps raining in the afternoon when the sun is suppose to shine in. Added to that occasionally we get bad haze from forest burning from our neightbouring country that blocks out the sun completely. So I have no choice but to grow my CPs under artificial conditions. I have recently shifted alot of my neps back to my parents place in a small town up north in Taiping. They have a huge garden and the environement is perfect. The nights are cooler and humidity level during the day is also higher. The neps there are doing great but this means I cannot see my neps as often as I want to and sometimes if my parents travel or forget to water them, they dry out. « Last Edit: Feb 4, 2008, 9:23am by David »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Administrator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 2,326 Location: Kuala Lumpur ![]() « Reply #10 on Feb 4, 2008, 9:18am » Quote:Hmmmm....I guess the comp will go for a few months or a year or so? Maybe I shall owe you until I get seeds. « Last Edit: Feb 4, 2008, 9:20am by David »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Advisor - Nepenthes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() if you don't grow from seed, toughen up! ![]() ![]() Joined: Oct 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 307 Location: Republic of Texas ![]() « Reply #11 on Feb 4, 2008, 9:37am » Yeah whoever loses will just owe the other person until they get something ![]() Hey, I might not win...my stuff likes to randomly die sometimes. From what I have witnessed about their spike, it appears that ampullarias must be a prolific provider for seeds. With that said, it won't be long before we see speckled, red and newer colored forms of ampullarias popping right out of a bed of seed-original plants, and like in nature, no two alike.
