Another alternative is to use rat glue. There are two type, one is odorless and the other stink like mad...the choice is yours. Just aplly on a piece of plank and place a bait on it.

ps: When using rat poison, make sure you place a bowl of water nearby. This is because the poison only works if the rat drink water after consuming it.
Thanks again for the details. I realise I did not try rat glue yet and when I'm using rat poison I did not place a water bowl nearby. I also did not properly clean the rat cage when the last one was caught about a month ago...

In other words there is HOPE

Yeah, I think it's worth the while to spare the anguish of a few damaged plants and to have your dogs guard your property though...if they are good at that...

Their doom's day is here! I have 4 of them and even the toad hardly have any peaceful days to live with!

Just drop me a message if you need one. LOL
Pest control!! They say that Japanese bobtail cats (supposedly our kampung cats brought to Japan and stylised as a breed) are good in their hunting skills. Someone told me once that her cat actually killed lizards, rats and birds but didn't eat it, brought it to her instead.....

Happens whenever I'm doing my gardening on some Sunday mornings. They like to run across in front of me then stop, look at me for a second and dash off.... And can you believe we are actually related to these guys, seriously???

Vince, are Schnauzers also good for hunting rats? I was thinking of getting one as it doesn't shed its fur so much like most other dogs and it's not such a big breed so it can reach into some tight corners....I don't fancy pinschers as they bark too noisily for their small size...
