Yes, they're way too smart to the extend they become a nuisance. They form their own gangs and imagine you have few gangs near your house. No easy way out.

Ya this is what happen to me. They (tree shrew) like to come in gang and sometime u can hear them fighting with their rat-like noise and run around like mad bull knocking off my pot. They usually very violent in that sort of way . I guess it's the same for all animal no matter where u r.
