As you mentioned yourself 'the only tell sign i know is wilds one always looks fragile, dry and busted up while nursery ones are robust ,shinning green and healthy looking'... They also take a very long time to establish.

The last dend spectabile looks good. Why did your friend say its a waste of time..? Maybe he meant that the plant is reluctant to flower soon as its supporting so many seed pods..

the man who sold me the slab said it was sawit..., since you mention fern i think you are right too...probably i take a closer look at the slab later

yes you are right it does take a long time to establish, and even longer to flower, but thats the enjoyment one gets for keeping species orchid, sort like if one of your hybrid orchid flowers ..you would probbly say , yar ok, but if one of species orchid stars to show sign of a flower bud...you be flashing your cameras
how do clean up the diseases , actully i never thought abt this brader...thanks

i dont know why he said dont buy...i would ask him when i see him, but i do know he is one of the fanatic for wild orchids ...it would be a sin to bring hybrids into his home he said
