dont know exactly where i got this info, but there are several nepenthes that develop rhizomes so they come back when bush fire season starts. not a tuber....it would be small minded to think thorelii doesnt exist in cultivation; look at all the poachers u have. Sure, they take poor care of them, even if they survive, then they sell them as a viking ssp. or even as a rafflesiana. It might be hard for you guys to even see this rare plant, but here in the us, forums have talked about taking trips to cambodia and other places where the plant has been spotted with mirabilis. To say that is not in cultivation is a lie.
