I think my growing conditions is just not right. However, it grew a little plantlet for me before it died. Hope this survives. Nice clean white flower. Difference in the leaves? This one has barely any. May be have to give them more sunlight. I grow mine in full sun with water almos tup to the brim of the pot. It thrives and grows very qucikly and vigorously. Lim, you try too yah ? Actually I try before. The P. primuliflora's leaves turn more yellow and narrower under 100% full sunlight and not dying. « Last Edit: May 24, 2007, 12:36pm by piscesilim »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Global Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline Joined: Apr 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 1,523 Location: Bandar Kinrara , Puchong ![]() « Reply #18 on May 24, 2007, 1:18pm » Sounds like my d.adelae, coz my shade version is broad leaf, my sun version is spear shaped & narrow. Cosmoking : is yellow coloured leafs an unhealthy shade for pings ? as opposed to the deep green colour you mentioned. The reason they're getting roasted is because people keep them too dry in full sun(i.e. water isnt up to the rim of the pot) I know when I say this because I lost a primuliflora like this last year by letting the water drop(by accident) very low. It died. ![]() This species is also from sub Tropical Florida-the light intensity is roughly the same as in Malaysia during the Summer I believe. It is often found growing on the edge of streams in very wet conditions, sometimes even found to be completely submerged in water! It depends what kind of yellow leaves, Tarence. Some Pings like P. primuliflora tend to become more vigorous but also yellow-ish in full sun. This is normal. Other times when Pings, particurlarly Mexican Pings, become yellow because of lack of nutrition. Ive started to use some normal potting mix when I pot them up(it makes up roughly 1/6 to 1/10 of the compost) the yellow colour is gone and whats more, they grow much more vigorously. |
