Hello :

My latest N. neoguineensis pitcher: it has been stretching for days and it still refuses to open its lid! Not quite as big as N. rajah but it could swallow whole dozens of tiny drosera: Size does matter !

There's something eerie about this pitcher, don't you think ?

François.

François, are the pitchers of this species coloured like that mostly or it is just your plant?

Yes! Once in a while you see an unopened pitcher that is as spectacular as any mature one. I always liked this pitcher:

It looked strong and tough even at this stage. It later opened up to this:

Nepenthes ventricosa x (truncata x mindanaoensis)

Very nice so far...be sure to post when it's open!

Hi all:

Very elegant pitchers indeed. I wonder how resistant this species is to highland conditions. I remember reading on another forum, a grower who'd managed to keep this plant alive in UK winter without heating. I'd also second Ludwig's last words!

Cheers,

Gus

Hello .

Thanks for the kind words .

Cindy, I've heard of green plants but there are also many "brown" specimens in the wild.

Augustin, I don't know if this species would cope well with highland conditions.
Mine grows in full lowland conditions with a lof of light.

Oh, just forgot: the pitcher has opened. It is now more than 20 cm long.
