The Typhoon went through the island too of course but I dont' think the nepenthes species will be of much danger, it is a shame of all those that died in that ferry disaster though. I think it might be more probable, or accelerate the process, but it is not a requirement. I've seen some nice, good sized sibuyanensis pitchers on pitcherplants that were known to not have rested on anything.
