Well, the excitement & wanting to look at it often is understandable.
Maybe it likes the company / protection of other plants... hmmm.... |

Looks like from today onwards whenever a Sundew dies on me, I'm gonna keep the plant in the pot at one corner and wait!
Today I found a new shoot from my "dead" D. madagascarinsis. The dried brown plant has been in the corner for a few months now and the media was dry when I checked today. I just watered it, so it'll look wet in the pictures. See the new shoot from near the base... ![]() ![]() ![]()

David, I know you grow them indoors. Hate to hijack the thread but the sand dressing troubling me. I used sand to dress my pots too but not anymore. Nice to cover the ugle algea underneath. The heat absorded from the sun cause them to barbeque my drosera. Anyone experience this?

Yes, I woudl think if you are growing them outdoors with sand as the topping, it'll barbeque the plants. Sand can be quite hot under sunlight.
This pot is place at my wash area at the window. 6 months in a year it receives direct evening sunlight for about 2-3 hours. It's ok like that so far. But if it's place under direct afternoon sun the whole day, your plants will get barbeque like what Ban Aik said.

David, you now discover the innate beauty of Sundews...the ability to regenerate from leaf, root, stem and even flower stalk!

I can only fall deeper in love with them Cindy. There's no turning back for me... no hope of returning to a normal life without Sundews... (dreamy eyes staring into blankness...)

Tell me about it...I have the prolifera (still in TC) at my service balcony. Everyday I go and look at the plants and see if they are dividing or growing. 'Cos the amount of light affects how they grow in TC. Very fun!
