Those are really nice plants, I also really like the spectabilis with it's great coloration. Just one question though, HL plants are used to fluctuations in humidity with the humidity being the highest at night with cool weather. Doesn't AC lower the humidity in the room? In my experience, AC drastically lowers humidity. I wanted to know what your situation is as I would love to able to grow HL plants simply by air conditioning a room hehe. Take care, good growing. You are right Pananep, air-cond does strip off water vapor.
Here's my set-up. I keep my HL plants on a four tier metal/chrome display stand. But I added wheels to the stand to allow me to move the plants to face the morning sun and wheel back to my bedroom at night. I mist the plants every morning before I go to work. In addition, I replace water to a Samsung humidifier located at the bottom of the stand in the morning and at night. The plants closed to the humidifier are really saturated. Those at the top level are around 70% RH. Because of the routine, I dreaded taking holidays!!!!! Choong |
